Abubakar Sadiq Mu’azu is the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Advocacy, Transparency, and Accountability Initiative (CATAI). An advocate of girl child education and Global Education champion under Malala Fund with more than 8 years working experience in the Humanitarian and Development sector. He has been advocating and championing girl child programming. enrolling girls, providing them access to sanitary hygiene kits and scholastic materials in retaining them in school. Abubakar is working on creating a vibrant arts community that enhances the quality of life, easy access to basic needs of life, and elevating the less privileged and vulnerable persons, especially children and women, adolescents, and youth in his youth-led organization through a youth-led initiative, community mobilization and participation, citizen participation, transparent and accountable activities.
Over the past five years leading CATAI Abubakar successfully managed and implemented project that impacted directly to over 100,796 children and adults in the conflict prone areas of Boko Haram within Borno, Adamawa and Yobe in Northeastern Nigeria while indirectly reached over 3,000,000 people through different medium. He has created for himself a niche around northeast Nigeria and is currently developing a strategic and operational approach to enhance efficiency in girl child programming and project activities. Having a leadership mindset and understanding of current trends and best practices, He has over these years developed and established excellent relationships with local community groups, associations, and stakeholders in the humanitarian and development sector in Education, Governance, Leadership, Protection, Peacebuilding, Livelihood, and others where he has established a clear communication link and feedback mechanisms for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, accountability and transparency.
He is a Graduate of the University of Maiduguri where he obtained a BSc. Geography And currently undergoing his Masters Degree in Disaster Risk Management and Developmental studies. He has professionally managed many projects with several donors such as USAID, UN Women , UNICEF, Creative Associate and several other organizations with both local and international partners.
