Ibukunoluwa Oluwafumbi Ajayi is an environmental educator, social innovator, and Teach For Nigeria Alumni using creativity and community action to drive sustainability in underserved schools and communities. Through his initiative, Recycle Arts Initiative, he transforms waste into learning opportunities—beautifying school environments with recycled materials like tires and PET bottles while teaching students about climate change, circular economy, and entrepreneurship. The project, piloted at Community High School Ebute Igbooro, Ogun State, is inspiring over 1,000 learners to take ownership of their environment, improve attendance, and see waste as wealth.

Beyond the classroom, Ibukunoluwa leads the Women Against Plastic Nigeria Campaign, a volunteer-driven movement that has collected over 500 kilograms of plastic waste from community events such as Chalk Party 2023 and 2024, and fireworks shows. His team of 20 youth volunteers empowers women and local cleaners through advocacy, creative reuse training, and environmental education aligned with SDGs 4, 11, 12, and 13.

Despite challenges such as lack of electricity and limited funding in rural areas, Ibukunoluwa’s resilience and leadership have sparked youth participation in climate action and sustainability education across Nigeria. His innovative fusion of environmental art, education, and empowerment continues to turn waste into change — nurturing a generation of eco-conscious changemakers.
