Sandy Kaur stands as a beacon of change, trail blazing through the field of mental health and community. As the founder and Director of Sehhat, a not-for-profit organisation, Sandy has committed herself to shaping the mindset surrounding mental health and suicide within Punjabi and South Asian communities.

For the past six years, Sandy has been at the forefront of providing culturally appropriate support services through Sehhat. From establishing safe spaces to launching a podcast and developing crucial resource, and developing one of the very few, research studies on ‘The impacts of Suicide in Punjabi communities’.

In addition to her work with Sehhat, Sandy is the visionary behind the Sikh Forgiveness project, an initiative aimed at breaking linguistic barriers within Gurdwara Sahibs to foster understanding and healing. Sandy's passion for Seva (a selfless service to humanity) it’s evident in every aspect of her work.

One of the most remarkable achievements of the Sikh Forgiveness project is the creation of the groundbreaking bilingual resource, the Mental Health Ki Hundi Hai book. This unique publication translates 15 clinical mental health conditions into Punjabi, providing invaluable support to individuals and families alike. Distributed internationally, the book serves as a vital communication tool for both service users and professionals, bridging the gap between cultural understanding and mental health awareness.

Through her unwavering dedication and innovative initiatives, Sandy continues to make a profound influence on the lives of countless individuals, paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for Punjabi and South Asian communities worldwide.
