Abhishek Panwar, a dedicated social activist and youth climate leader from Indore, India, has positively impacted over 161,000 lives over the past 13 years through his commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals—specifically SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
As Programme In-Charge and Coordinator at Nek Karya Seva Samiti, he has led vital relief work for underprivileged communities. Since 2011, his free food distribution initiative has served over 150,000 meals to hospital patients, orphaned children, and slum dwellers. In 2023, he launched a monthly ration kit initiative that has supported more than 11,000 individuals from cancer-affected families with nutritional and economic assistance.
As Convener and Executive Committee Member of Chetna Atal Yuva Mandal, he has been empowering young people in climate education and civic engagement since 2019. He represented India at COY18 (Dubai) and COY19 (Baku). Under the COY19 Global Youth Statement (GYS) National Outreach Programme – India 2024, he led a 12-member national team to deliver climate education sessions, stakeholder engagement campaigns, and digital awareness drives, reaching over 5,000 young people across India.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Abhishek served as a frontline volunteer—transporting patients, distributing food, medicine, and sanitisers, and supporting vulnerable communities, all amid resource constraints.
His dedication to equality, climate justice, and youth-led action—despite challenges—demonstrates strong, ground-level leadership, making him an exceptional candidate for the Changemaker Spotlight Programme.
