Abimbola Ajala is an activist who is passionate about the SDG 4. She started off as Bimbo & Friends, a platform to get her friends to be the change they want to see in the world before transforming to Lend a Hand for the Development of Africa (LAHAfrica). LAHAfrica is committed to seeing that children in low income communities have access to quality education and health support. She describes herself as the bridge between the have nots and people willing to make a difference.

Her scholarship scheme has supported children across various communities in Nigeria to get access to quality education at no cost to themselves across various levels. Some of her beneficiaries have been on the scheme since primary school and they are now in the university thriving beautifully. She believes that this would help reduce poverty, illiteracy and multigenerational issues.

The scholarship scheme also birthed a Reading Club where children in various communities come together monthly to read, get introduced to authors and guests and get free food supplies. This helps children not in school yet find a place to learn and get equipped before getting enrolled in school. The reading club launched has helped children in their hundreds find a safe space.

Her ‘Pad for a Girl’ initiative helps get girls sanitary pads, information and guidance and in 2021 she produced a documentary #ibleeddifferent where she highlighted the issues girls in low income communities face during and after that time of the month. This initiative has impacted over ten thousand girls in Nigeria.
