Amina is a dedicated climate change activist and public policy practitioner with nearly a decade of experience in the field. She is the co-founder of both the Nigerian Climate Preservation Network (NYCPN) and the Compassionate Advocacy for the Poor Initiative (CAPI). Through her leadership, Amina has championed numerous initiatives that promote community resilience, environmental sustainability, and social justice.

She has engaged with over 10,000 individuals across 200 communities, focusing on climate adaptation, youth empowerment, and the advocacy for policies that protect vulnerable populations. Amina’s work includes supporting farmers through projects like the Perimabiri Soil Rejuvenation project and advocating for the well-being of women and girls, impacting more than 7,000 girls in rural areas.

Her work in the Perimabiri Soil Rejuvenation project is an example of her resilience, where she helped farmers revive and prepare their farmlands for cultivation despite the lack of external financial support. Additionally, Amina has faced the difficulty of addressing cultural norms and societal resistance, particularly in her advocacy for the rights and well-being of women and girls in rural areas. Despite these barriers, she has successfully reached over 7,000 girls and empowered them through educational and social programs.

Amina’s ability to engage over 10,000 individuals across 200 communities showcases her dedication and the innovative approaches she employs to overcome logistical, financial, and societal hurdles. Her active participation in international coalitions like YOUNGO’s Loss and Damage Working Group and securing accreditations from organizations such as ECOSOC, UNCCD, and UNEP further highlight her determination to elevate her advocacy to a global platform despite initial challenges in gaining recognition and resources.

Her organization, the Nigerian Climate Preservation Network, has been dedicated to advancing climate action and has received ECOSOC accreditation, as well as accreditation from both UNCCD and UNEP.

As the Director of Health and Environment at the National Youth Council of Nigeria and a member of the Loss and Damage Youth Coalition, Amina collaborates at local and international levels to push for climate action and resilience-building programs. Her active involvement with these accredited bodies underscores her commitment to global advocacy and tangible community outcomes.

Through sheer perseverance, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to her mission, Amina has turned these adversities into opportunities, allowing her to grow her impact and continue advocating for environmental and social change.
