Benjamin Nzabarinda’s work through  Community Development Association (CODA) is the belief that quality education is the foundation for lasting change driven by this conviction, he has worked to ensure that even children displaced by conflict have access to learning opportunities that can transform their futures.

Since opening CODA Nursery and Primary School in 2015, Benjamin has led efforts to provide quality education to over 5,000 refugee and host-community children in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, the school was designed as a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child regardless of background has the opportunity to learn, play, and thrive.

Benjamin’s impact goes beyond the classroom through CODA’s operations; he has created over 500 employment opportunities for teachers, support staff, and community workers. These jobs have provided income, skills, and dignity to families contributing directly to local economic empowerment and strengthening the resilience of both refugee and host communities.

By combining education with job creation, Benjamin Nzabarinda has helped build a model of community development where children are prepared for the future, and adults are empowered in the present. His leadership continues to show that investing in people is the surest path to stability and hope in Kyangwali.
