Deborah Fiase has always felt a deep connection to her community - sharing simple joys, like biscuits with neighborhood kids, created a lifelong passion for making a difference in her that could not be ignored.
She has witnessed the struggles of children in under-resourced schools and the injustices faced by marginalized youth and this fueled my commitment towards SDG 4 SDG 16.
She founded Visionary Vanguard Initiative, driven by a desire to empower young minds. Through the initiative, she has together with her team organized transforming learning experiences by training in IT. She has built an innovation incubator program for young men in a remand home in Gboko, Benue State offering them hope and the skills to rebuild their lives. Through their annual youth debates, her initiative has provided a safe space for young voices to be heard, addressing critical societal issues with courage and conviction.
Beyond technology, she shares her love for storytelling, gifting original books to children in community schools, hoping to ignite their imaginations and inspire a love of learning. She believes that small acts of kindness and compassion, when multiplied can create profound and lasting impact.
