Phoster Mutti is a dynamic and accomplished social worker, global trainer, and community development expert with a strong passion for empowering girls and women in Zambia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Community Development, an Advanced Diploma in Social Work, a Certificate in Social Law, all from the University of Zambia. Since 2018, she has devoted over eight years to volunteering her skills and expertise across diverse communities driving change, fighting inequality and delivering practical solutions where they are most needed.

She is the Founder and CEO of the Girl Zone Empowerment Foundation, a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing gender equality, education, and reproductive health for girls and women while contributing directly to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a trained psychosocial counselor, Phoster uses her academic and field experience to lead initiatives that dismantle multiple forms of social, economic, and gender inequality empowering the most marginalized members of society.

Phoster is a certified Global Contact Trainer and Coordinator for Scandinavian countries, trained in Denmark under ActionAid International. She has successfully trained and coordinated international volunteers from Denmark and other Scandinavian countries as well as high school students under the Eco-School program and university students. As a local trainer, she delivers hands-on training and mentorship focused on social justice, advocacy and capacity building. Her programs address a broad spectrum of development challenges, including gender-based violence, SRHR, ecofeminism, climate change, decent work, governance, and legal reform.

Her impact has been recognized nationally through features on Diamond TV and several radio platforms where she advocates as a vocal and passionate women’s rights leader. Through her work with the African Union Commission , she contributes actively to ECOSOCC under special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security and the GIMAC Network leading awareness campaigns on gender equality and shaping dialogue on gender justice and pushing for legislative and systemic reform. Her work exemplifies her firm commitment to inclusive development and social transformation.

In 2025, Phoster officially signed a partnership with Plan International Zambia to implement a community-based project focused on raising health awareness and combating gender-based violence (GBV) among vulnerable girls and women in the Bauleni community. Through this partnership she has continued to champion the rights and well being of underserved populations, delivering targeted programs that bridge health access, psychosocial support and gender empowerment.

In collaboration with Softcare Company, Phoster has mobilized resources to deliver vital support to girls and women including the establishment of pad banks in schools to fight period poverty and support uninterrupted access to education. Her innovative and community driven approach has earned her recognition from regional partners, civil society, and private sector allies.

As a compelling public speaker she has delivered keynote addresses at influential summits such as the AU GIMAC, where she champions the rights of women and girls across Africa.

Her contributions also extend to the climate space through the Biological Nitrogen Fixation (BNF) project, where she works with CIMMYT/IITA, USAID and AID-I to promote climate-smart agriculture and food security in farming communities.

Since 2025, Phoster has served as an Election Observer with the African Union, deployed to rural constituencies across Africa to monitor electoral processes. She evaluates voter participation, transparency, and legal compliance while providing strategic recommendations to the AU Election Observation and Monitoring Mission (AU EOM advancing democratic governance and accountability.

Across every aspect of her work, Phoster Mutti is deeply committed to fighting all forms of inequality, advancing human rights and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. She continues to inspire and lead change that uplifts communities in Zambia and beyond.
