Sadia Tabassum is a passionate human rights activist dedicated to combating online harassment of women, cyber bullying, addressing gender-based violence, and promoting women’s participation in politics. Her work is closely aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities—seeking to eliminate violence and discrimination against women while ensuring their full participation in public life.

She is a UNESCO Madanjeet Singh South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (UMSAILS) scholar, Sadia holds a First Class Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with Distinction. She has also gained valuable legal experience working under Barristers, Attorneys and legal experts which has strengthened her ability to link legal frameworks with grassroots advocacy.

She is the pioneer of the Screenshot Movement in Bangladesh that launched in August 2025, which began when she started capturing via screenshots derogatory remarks in social media made against women, posting them on social media, and demanding justice from authorities. This inspired many men and women to contribute in their own ways, amplifying the movement and expanding its reach. Over time (August-September 2025), the campaign impacted thousands of people ranging from girls in schools, colleges and universities to prominent women leaders, academics, and the wider public. The movement’s influence inspired Sadia to initiate the process of establishing an organization, Truth and Justice.

Her work has been encouraged by eminent jurists and human rights defenders, including Sara Hossain and ZI Khan Panna, whose mentorship continues to inspire her journey since beginning her activism.

Sadia Tabassum remains committed to building a more just and equal society where women’s rights are safeguarded, voices amplified, and leadership embraced.
