Eric Karuti is a Kenyan psychologist, writer, and youth development advocate whose work spans research, media engagement, and public discourse, focusing on addressing societal challenges. Through opinion and analytical pieces on mental health, education, employment, and civic participation, he has influenced public conversations via Daily Nation—Kenya’s largest newspaper with a daily circulation of 170,000 and readership of 35–48%—and Business Daily Africa, a leading business daily serving professionals and policymakers across East Africa.

His media contributions reach potentially hundreds of thousands of readers weekly, advancing understanding of emotional resilience, psychosocial well-being, and the socio-economic challenges facing youth. By fostering evidence-informed dialogue and raising awareness, his work contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), encouraging communities and policymakers to adopt approaches that create meaningful change.

Professionally, Karuti served as a Research Officer with the Meru Youth Service (MYS), a county-level youth empowerment agency that has trained over 2,355 young recruits through vocational and community programs. Over three years, he supported initiatives linking youth skills development to real-world opportunities, helping young people build capacities that translate into lasting personal and community impact.

Across his work, he addresses challenges such as mental health stigma, youth unemployment, and unequal access to education, consistently promoting solutions that empower and transform communities.
