Lilian Dibo Eyong is a resilient disability rights advocate and the visionary founder of the Lilian Dibo Foundation in Cameroon. Growing up as a polio survivor and wheelchair user, she faced systemic barriers ranging from stigma and discrimination to limited access to education, healthcare, and opportunities. Instead of allowing these challenges to silence her, she transformed them into fuel for change.

Through her leadership, Lilian has become a powerful voice for children, women, and girls with disabilities. Her foundation has reached communities with programs that promote education (through scholarships for 23 children with disabilities including those from parents with disabilities), health justice (paying hospital bills, donating prothesis and partnering with hospitals for medical subvention for persons with disabilities), skills development (free training on Ankara and beads accessories designs, public speaking and disability rights advocacy), and inclusion. She has inspired 300+ adolescent girls with disabilities and adolescent girls from parents with disabilities, gave startup capital to 100+ persons with disabilities, trained 2000+ women and children on preventable rape and breaking the silence on rape. Developed the capacity of 500+ women and girls with disabilities to step into leadership, challenged harmful stereotypes, and created safe spaces where marginalized voices are heard and respected.

Her impact is evident in the lives of young girls with disabilities who now attend school, women who have gained confidence to advocate for themselves, and communities that are beginning to embrace inclusion as a collective responsibility.

Faced with financial challenges, inaccessibility and attitudinal barriers and others, she has never given up on her dreams to create sustainable impact. Lilian’s journey is one of courage, hope, and transformation, proof that adversity can be the birthplace of powerful leadership and lasting change.
